Dear Parents,
Juvenile training with the Club will break for the Summer on Thursday 15th June. Thank you for your support for the Club and to your children and young people who have worked so hard at training, often braving the elements and representing the Club so well at competitions. The fantastic facilities on offer at the Peace Link have contributed to the rapid growth of the Club. Athletes of all abilities are welcome and encouraged to train with the Club. However we need addtional volunteers and coaches to help us. We ask you to consider assisting the coaching staff in the Autumn - training will be provided. For those not interested in offering direct coaching support help is also requested for areas such as registration, competition entries etc. If you would be in a position to help out please contact me on [email protected] or 087 195 9842. Once again County Monaghan AAI will be entering a Male and Female team in the AAI National League. The first round of the league takes place on Sunday 25th June.
For those not familiar with the league structure, we will be drawn to compete in round 1 in either Tallaght or Athlone. We need to field athletes across the whole range of track and field events. Events are as follows: MEN (21 events, best 15 scores) 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 5000m, 110h, 400mh, 3000mSC, 3000m Walk Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Hammer, 56 Lbs 4x100, 4x400 WOMEN (19 events, best 13 scores) 100m, 200m, 400m, 800m, 1500m, 3000m, 110h, 400mh, 3000m Walk Long Jump, High Jump, Triple Jump, Pole Vault, Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Hammer 4x100, 4x400 Can all clubs come back with athlete availability, preferred events and their PB/SB.
